Since it is Saturday, let's take another quirky trip to...
In this Episode, we get a mix of random weirdness, Plot Threads and then...the craziness you expect.
We get the random weirdness in the form of this guy and his friend *really* enjoying their bread. That's probably a Fetish, but I'm too terrified to look it up.
They go to a Casino/Brothel across the River. A later bit implies that this will end up being important later. Mind you, I have no problem with this part...
Miguel Ferrer comes to Town as Agent Cooper's CSI Tech. He's an asshole. That's it.
In the Episode's best bit, Cooper demonstrates his bizarre way of determining who the 'J' is from Laura's note. It is...odd.
Basically, he has the Sheriff call out names and he throws a rock at a bottle. If he hits the bottle, they are a key suspect. Words fail me, Gentlemen.
That night, things get weirder. Yes, it is possible.
Cooper has a crazy dream involving the killer we saw in Episode 1, before he wakes up in a Red Room with a Laura Palmer look-alike and...the mysterious Little Person in red.
He says all sorts of cryptic things before Cooper wakes up and says he know who killed Laura!
That's what I'm talking about! I knew that stuff like this was coming and it did not disappoint. I still don't know what the hell any of that last part meant...but I look forward to finding out as the Show goes on. Aside from that, there are all sorts of interesting stuff. You have the girl dancing oddly in the Diner, Ray Wise sad-dancing with Laura's picture, the completion of the silent drape-closer and so much more. This really shows you what all the fuss was about. I still don't pretend to entirely understand what this Show is about or where it is going, but it is fun to imagine. The stand-out here is obviously McLachlan's Agent Cooper- no question. He just has so many quirks and really steals a Scene with his mini-monologue about Tibet (which was more topical when this aired). He's gloriously-quirky! The mysterious Man in Red sure is interesting too. When all of this makes a lick of sense, he'll certainly rank higher for me. It's alright- he's taking this all in stride...
Next week, we start to get into the really-crazy stuff. Let's see where this goes! See you then.
