Top 8 Silly Shark Films of Mondo Bizarro!

There are many, many Shark Films.  Thanks, Jaws!

I can't possibly cover them all, but I do my best.  Since there's a big new one coming out, let's look at some past ones that were just plain silly!

Exempt Films (since I didn't Review them): Sharknado 5, Mega-Shark vs. Colossus, 3-Headed Shark Attack, Ghost Shark, Atomic Shark, Swamp Shark, Robo-Shark, Super Shark and 5-Headed Shark Attack.

Exempt Films (since they are good): 47 Meters Down, Bait.

8. Dinoshark: It's a giant, prehistoric Shark (like some other Film coming out).  It does have a dinosaur-like head, so that makes it just silly enough to apply here.  It doesn't fight another creature or have extra limbs though, so it only ranks here.

7. Mega-Shark vs. Crocosaurus: After surprising the Internet with one Scene, this is the Sequel.  It isn't quite as silly as the Series would get- including a giant Russian Robot!), but it does feature dubious physics and soldiers with the world's worst aim!

6. Sharknado 2: I covered this as Rifftrax Live, but it counts.  The body count is higher.  The amount of Celebrity Cameos is higher.  The amount of Sharknados is higher.  Kurt Angle doing an accent.  It has it all!

5. Sand Sharks: Based on the idea that tiny, adorable Sand Sharks exist now and that other things existed in the past, we have this Film.  Dinosaur Sharks swim through rock and sand.  The CG is terrible.  At least it is the only one on the List with Brooke Hogan.  Oh, wait...

4. Two-Headed Shark Attack: Hello again, Brooke.  This Asylum Film features, well, guess.  How is a lop-sided Shark more dangerous?  Why is every killer Shark over 20 feet long?  Who kept casting Brooke Hogan in stuff?!?  Sadly, I didn't do the follow-ups (as mentioned above)- yet.

3. Sharktopus: Just say that out loud.  Roger Corman produced this, so it explains a lot.  The head of a shark and the body of an octopus.  It's not good.  It also gave us 2 Sequels- that I didn't review- in the form of Sharktopus vs Pteracuda and Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf.

2. Mega-Shark vs. Mecha-Shark: It was still not the last, but it is the last one I reviewed.  After 2 Films, we get a new Shark (with no explanation) and a sillier nemesis- a giant, robot shark.  Poor Alumni from Stargate: SG1 and Law & Order have to pilot it.  The physics here is just bonkers, so it gets to be this high.

1. Sharknado- The 4th Awakens: The whole Series just kept getting stupider. They went from a silly premise to trying to top themselves and then to Space! Now that we've been to Space, we might as well introduce multiple elemental version, a cyborg and mech suits!

I can only imagine how dumb Part 5 was and how bad Part 6 will be!

To be honest, I thought I did more of these. Even so, these 8 are a pretty solid set of terrible Shark Films and more than anyone should watch.

There's more coming to Syfy this Weekend, so...enjoy?

Poor Bastards of Cinema: Sharktopus

Sharktopus is famous for its random and sudden deaths of innocents.  Today is no exception.  In this case, we have two random guys working to clean up the side of a boat...
For no reason, Sharktopus kills the first guy by stabbing him with his sharpened tentacle.  The friend never hears this...
...and pays the price.  Sharktopus hates the deaf!
Enjoy your meal of stupid people.  It sure won't lower your IQ or anything!
Still think that working on boats is cool?!?

Up next, a Mexican man learns the danger of selling guns.  Vietnam is the gift that keeps on giving!  Stay tuned...

'Deep Blue Sea' Moments: Sharktopus

Roger Corman's latest opus was about a shark-octopus hybrid wreaking havoc.  One man was doubting it's existence, however...
After getting the latest report, he makes up a fake story.  His co-host (who is in a bikini, despite it being a radio show) goes to the outer portion of the boat to tell him to correct his reports...
"Oh, hi Sharktopus!  What are you doing he...."
That's what you get for doubting me," says the Sharktopus, "I decided to go miles out of my way to kill you just for that!"
I bet you didn't see that coming, huh?  I know that I was shocked.  I mean, it was only the 800th random kill of the movie!

It was also a Deep Blue Sea Moment!

A Review in Pictures : Sharkotpus

Why the hell not?!?  That was pretty much the logic behind this movie, I think.  Only Roger Corman could go 'a half-shark, half-octopus creature- green-light that!'  Need I remind you that the last film that he directed was 1990's Frankenstein Unbound.  In that film, a bored guy from the future goes back in time using his time-machine/car to meet Mary Shelly, Dr. Frankenstein and Lord Byron.  If you think that I'm kidding, check out the streaming version of it here.  So yeah, this movie is about a shark-octopus hybrid running amok at a coastal resort in Mexico.  There's more to the film, but it's mostly just window-dressing.  Since this is a recent film and I kind of want you to see it, I bring you another review in pictures.  Enjoy the CG-silliness that is...
* The hybrid creature escapes its masters- a mere 8 minutes into the film- and shows off it's superiority quickly.
* Sharktopus takes out a bungee-jumping tourist.  Oddly, this is played by Roger Corman's daughter!
* In a somewhat wasted idea, the Sharktopus briefly walks on land (the beach) using his tentacles, but doesn't really do it again.  Breaking the laws of physics- yes.  Awesome- yes.
* 'Get off my...boat....err, I mean, that boat!"
* Odd perspective shots aren't always a good idea when your special effects are made in Adobe Average.
 * You'd better run- this Sharktopus is pissed!  How dare you mock my silly and frivolous existence!
Corman is one silly, silly man!  The plot of this movie is very basic, but it kind of works.  This movie doesn't claim to be Citizen Kane or anything!  I would say that it's a bit silly to introduce the 'government weapon' idea when it escapes captivity on the very first mission!  I was kind of hoping for a throwaway line about this being 'one last test' or something.  I'm being picky, I know.  The film is just an excuse to string together a bunch of Sharktopus kills.  The rest of the film is just window-dressing.  If you like pulp films like this, you'll have a good time.  It's also nice to see that Corman has gotten over his fear of mixed-genre films (i.e. horror comedies) & embracing it here.  Take us away, Corman cameo...
Next up, May begins with Super-Old-School Week.  We look at a movie serial from the early 20th Century...starring Harry Houdini.  Stay tuned...
