In the 1980s, Madonna was one of the biggest musical acts, as opposed to an old lady with freaky, vein-popping arms. As such, this film was made...
So a woman has sex with a man while a robot-faced poster sits in the background. Kinky girl...
Next up, demons come from Hell, but end up in Antarctica? I'm sure that there's a good reason for this. Stay tuned...
As one of the few people that have seen this, and maybe the only one that can provide historical context for it, I thought I'd chime in.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Canadian "erotic thriller" of sorts, although more along the lines of Truffaut's "Bride Wore Black" than some skinemax thing, but with unusually horrible editing and an unspeakable synth score (although otherwise decent). It's actually adapted from a book called "Madonna", which in turn reused the cover art from the Regal VHS of "The Devil Walks at Midnight" aka "The Devil's Nightmare", the Italian horror film. When the movie was released direct to video, it was subtitled "A Case of Blood Ambition" to try and tie it to the other Madonna (the material girl). It was also released as "Sins of Seduction" by a different company, to play it up as an "erotic" movie. It was actually slated to come out on DVD via Media Blasters/Rareflix, but was canceled. The star is Deborah Mansey (although she has gone under several names), who stars in Kickboxer 4, and recently had a small part in Crazy Heart (yes, with Jeff Bridges). That is everything I know.
