It was a bold idea to make a dirty Comedy with Muppet-like creatures. It didn't work in Theaters. How is the actual product though?
In Los Angeles, Puppets and Humans live together. They don't say why or how. Just go with it!
Our Lead- Phil Phillips- is a Private Investigator who takes a case from a redhead.
So yeah, it's a bit Noir.
Right at the same time, there is a big deal going on with a long-running Show getting sold to Syndication, netting Millions for the Stars.
Coincidentally or not, someone starts killing these Puppets in creative ways.
Can Phil work with his old Partner- Melissa McCarthy- to solve these crimes?
Or will things go south and he takes the blame for them all?
To find out, watch the Film (since you didn't in Theaters).
I kept waiting to dislike this Film. Is it crass? Usually. Is it a bit silly? Quite often. Does that mean that it is a 'bad Film' and has nothing to offer? No. The Film is funny. The Film hides some interesting stuff under the guise of being a silly Film. For instance, Phil's Brother gets a 'human nose job' and bleaches his skin to look more flesh-toned. That's...wow. As much as they joke about Puppets being addicted to sugar, they also highlight the Class Divide between them and Humans. There's some interesting and kind of deep commentary here is my point. Aside from that, I found it quite funny and enjoyed the twists and turns of the story. Was it surprising? Not usually. Did I have a good time? Yes. In spite of this and Muppets being cancelled, I hope that Brian Henson keeps trying to make new and more subversive stuff like this. Look at how much work they are putting into every little thing, even just making a Puppet smoke...
A weird and fun Movie. It often goes for the gross joke first, but there's some good stuff there that got overlooked too.
