Project Terrible Returns- Why The Hell Not?!?

Hey folks, Project Terrible is back!

The core group- Michele, Bob, Maynard and myself- are joined by a new member this time- Christian!

Is he prepared for our fun?  We'll see.

In this Round, we each picked a Theme for what we would be given, but couldn't control what comes after that.  This one should be interesting.

Films you'll see when our fun begins again in June include...

- 100 Below Zero
- Baby Geniuses
- Homoti
- Rappin'
- Hercules
- The Trial of the Incredible Hulk
- 2012: Doomsday
- The Apple
- Thor: Hammer of the Gods
- Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2
- Manos: The Hands of Fate
- Bolero

Is that random enough for you?

Keep an eye out for Project Terrible as June approaches and get ready to laugh at our pain.

Mondo Bizarro and the 'Atlantic Rim' Mystery

I am teh greatest Detective!

Like many/all of you, I have spent the last few months saying to myself 'When is The Asylum's 'Atlantic Rim' coming out?'
Well, it did.  However, I suspect that some possible legal action led to a change.

See if you can spot it...
Yeah, it's a small change.

As a bonus, I'm going to include this shot from the film just for Bob.  He'll know why...
Awesome.

Now if Netflix will carry this or if The Asylum would send me a Screener (hint hint), I'll actually review it.

Raiding Blockbuster Video (Again)

***Updated 1/04/12***
Breaking News (from about a week ago): There will be no more Blockbuster Video Stores.

Yes, we said that awhile ago, but not all of them died off.  Now they all will.

To memorialize the Store that I used to patronage, I bought some of their stock of movies.  I own 6,000 already, so why not own 6,005 (or so)?

Here's what I bought (now updated to show Christmas gifts I can reveal):

* Big Tits Zombie 3-D (released here as Zombie Stripper Apocalypse)
* Dead Sushi
* Swamp Thing (sadly, it is the 91 minute cut)
* Manborg
* FDR: American Bad-ass
* Death From Above (2012)
* The Other Guys (New on Blu-Ray!)
* The Thing (1982) (Blu-Ray)
* John Dies at the End (One for me and one Gift)
* Love & Other Drugs (Gift)
* The Devil's Double (Gift)
* Bernie (Gift)
* Burn After Reading (One for me and one Gift)
* The Onion Movie
* Ghost Rider (Blu-Ray)
* The A-Team (Blu-Ray)
* Paul (Blu-Ray)
* National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon
* American Splendor
* Ghost Town
* World's Greatest Dad
* Futurama: Bender's Game
* Review Fodder (which I'll reveal later)

That was just three trips, mind you.  If I make another (to the one that will close in about a week), I will Update this post.  I can't wait to watch my new crap!

Project Terrible is Back!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Terrible!

Wait, that's not right.  Hmm...still working on my catchphrases.

Anyhow, Project Terrible is back!

Michele- The Girl Who Loves Horror-, Bob- of Gaming Creatively 'fame'- and myself are going to be playing the Film Blogger Equivalent of Russian Roulette this Round.  Unfortunately, every chamber has a bullet it in, so nobody wins...but you.

Yes, our self-inflicted torture is your gain.  You will see fun- read: painful- reviews of such films as...

* Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie
* Seeking Justice
* Atrocious
* Meat Weed America
*And Many- at least 2- More

The Reviews will officially start coming out in April, but mine may end up early.  This whole 'no schedule' thing is fun for me, so we'll see what happens.

In the meantime, enjoy how I choose to torture myself.

Four Year Anniversary News- March is Special!

The three of you that were waiting for my Four-Year Anniversary Review were probably wondering why I missed the February date.  Well...

I didn't forget.  I just wanted to get that out of the way.

Now then, I decided to make March a special month.  The reason is simple: I didn't really get the site going until March anyhow.

March will feature re-done reviews from the early days of the site, special Updates and something that I vowed never to review.

Consider what I've done in the four years this site has been running and now consider that this has been off-limits.  It's that bad.

As a bonus, March may include something that has NEVER been seen on the site before.  I will say no more, as it is not set in stone.

So keep reading and you'll get to see some crazy stuff!

Project Terrible: Round 8 Announcement!

The Blogger vs. Blogger Challenge is back, baby!

Round 8 is going to include all of the members you've previously seen.  The Girl Who Loves Horror, Gaming Creatively, Cinema Gonzo, Let's Get Out of Here and Maynard Morrisey's Horror Diary are all here!

I'll update this post as the film choices become more clear and official.

Round 8 will be a bit shorter for others, as they are kind enough to squeeze it onto their calendars.  A more balanced Round will return as soon as possible.

Films that I've given out are...

* Shaolin Dolemite
* The Bermuda Triangle (1975)
* 1313: Bermuda Triangle
* The Dead Undead

Films given out for me and others include...

* Message from Space
* The Legend of Boggy Creek
* Birdemic: Shock and Terror
* Haunted Poland
* Fading of the Cries
* Snowbeast

As you can see, this Round is going to be full of crap.  Take heart, dear readers, that you will not be watching them- we will.

Be sure to keep an eye out for all of the Project Terrible 'goodness' this November!

Project Terrible- Round 7

I suppose I should announce that the bi-monthly war of attrition is back!

Yes, we've made to Round 7 and I'm happy to announce that Cinema Gonzo and The Girl Who Loves Horror are back for this round.  Craig at Let's Get Out of Here is hanging around still, as is Maynard Morrisey (of the titular Horror Diary) and Bob over at Gaming Creatively.

We're still nailing down all of the films and we're aiming for most of the reviews to take place in July.  Here's what I've handed out to them to watch...

Bob: Blubberella- Uwe Boll makes a comedy parodying his own work.  It should be painful.

Michele: The Garbage Pail Kids Movie- A film based on gross playing cards marketed towards adolescent boys.  Seems fitting for a nice, young lady to review.

Maynard: Frogs- A film I actually love, but does feature a chemical-assault by lizards.  It deserves more attention...as a stupid movie.

Craig: 1313- Actor Slash Model- David DeCoteau keeps working (if you call it that), so I keep giving his movies to Project Terrible members.  I'm a nice guy.

Thomas: Big Money Rustlas- The Insane Clown Posse got a movie.  This is the sequel.  It's a Western Comedy.  Should be fun for you, buddy.

As for what I'm getting...

From Bob: Episode 50- A found-footage, haunted house film that's NOT from The Asylum.  Fair enough.

From Michele: Demon Seduction/Sex- A softcore porn film disguised as Horror.  Yea?

From Maynard: Offspring- After Dark horror that shares the name with a rock band?  Okay.

From Craig: Dracula's Widow- I've seen his daughter and his weird cousins, so why not?

From Thomas: Bear (2010)- Guess what it's about?  I dare you!

Check us out in July to see all of our pain.

Project Terrible- Round 4!

It's back!  Everyone's favorite game of film nerd torturing film nerd for no good reason is back!

For those who don't know, Project Terrible is simple:

1. Blogger chooses a Terrible film for each person in the contest.
2. They, in turn, must watch a Terrible film chosen by the same people.
3. Everyone shares the link across their sites, maximizing potential readership and increase in Followers.

Just like last Round, it is going to include...

1. The Girl Who Loves Horror
2. Maynard Morrisey's Horror Diary
3. Gaming Creatively
4. Cinema Gonzo
5. Mondo Bizarro aka Me

Keep an eye out on the side-bar of my site (and hopefully their's) for all of the films being covered and when the reviews will be up.

They should start going up in November, although some may be up before that.

Enjoy our pain!

Project Terrible- Round 3!

After a fun week of terrible, terrible films, it's time to plan for Round 3 in September!

I'm telling you this for a simple reason: We Want You!
Project Terrible is simple:
* X Number of reviewers challenge the others to watch certain movies.
* The reviews take place during a set number of time.
* ALL reviews are cross-linked by me (and hopefully all those involved)

What does that mean?
* You can make other people watch films that you really, really don't want to.
* You get to watch them suffer while you laugh (and also suffer on your side)
* You get FREE website promotion in the process, possibly bringing in countless new readers.

What's not to love?  Torture, laughs and free website traffic.  I know that Maynard wants to do another round.  Who wants to join us?

There are so many Terrible films out there and someone has to watch them, so will it be you (or me)?  E-mail me at timte01(AT)hotmail.com if you want to take part.

P.S. You're free to come back if you want too, Carl.  :-)

UPDATE: It sounds like this Round is all full-up.  We've got five people (counting myself) and five movies is a nice number to stick with.

Project Terrible- Dead or Alive? *UPDATED*

This is the news that I'm sure that at least five people are wondering about- is Project Terrible still going?  Well, it's complicated...

For the time being, Carl will not be taking part.  Whenever he decides to, his spot is open.

With that said, Project Terrible is kind of silly if it's just me torturing myself.  I mean, I already do that!

With that said, I'm officially opening Project Terrible up to anyone who wants to take part!

If you don't know, here are the basic rules:

1. Accept a set of films- somewhere between 2 and 5- to review.
2. In exchange, I will review whatever 2-5 films you pick for me (unless I already have).
3. There are no general limitations on film choices.  I, myself, have done the Twilight trilogy (so far), We Are the Strange and Bone Sickness- so I can take whatever you can throw at me!
4. More importantly, links are shared across all sites that take part.  I'll link you, you'll link me and so on.  Who wants to turn down the possibility of new readers in exchange for what you're already doing?

If you want to take part, e-mail me with the words 'Project Terrible' in the Subject line.  My address is as follows TimTE01- @ -hotmail.com

UPDATE: Maynard Morrisey's Horror Blog is on-board.  Will you join him?

Announcement: Project Terrible- Round Two is Open!

After a rough Round 1, Project Terrible returns with Round Two!  What can you expect to see at Mondo Bizarro?

Thanks to Carl over at I Like Horror Movies, I must tackle the unholy trinity of tween horror.  That's right- I'm doing...

* Twilight
* New Moon
* Eclipse

I'm still waiting for my challenges from Z for Zombies.  Can he make it worse for me?

Here's the other big News: you can take part!  For any of my readers who run their own blogs, you can send me a challenge.  Just remember: you have to take one too.  This ain't no one-way street, guys!

Want to cross-promote your website for free?  Want to expose new readers to your work?  All you have to do is watch a shitty movie of my choosing and review it.  How easy is that?

If you're interested, e-mail at the address under my profile.

Press Release: Project Terrible- ILHM vs. Mondo Bizarro

I Like Horror Movies is proud to be co-sponsoring a new segment along with Mondo Bizarro entitled 'Project Terrible,' where film reviewers will have the chance to dare one another to watch and review poorly-rated films from online media outlets like Youtube or Netflix.  This ongoing segment is open to any film reviewers that are willing to subject themselves to such cinematic travesties as Blood Gnome or Bloodsucking Babes From Burbank. Outside of torturing each other for fun, this will also give lesser known films the chance for some much needed (though probably undeserved) coverage.

Over at Mondo Bizarro, we're reviewing four dubious films..
*Revenge of the Living Dead Girls
*Beware! Children at Play
*Zombie Campout
*Slice

Over at ILHM, we've seen one of his films reviewed so far...
*The Capture of Bigfoot

Anyone that is interested in participating can contact Alec at Mondo Bizarro for your first assignment: timte01@hotmail.com.

Take part...if you dare!
