Today's Film is Frankie Freako, an homage to/parody of Puppet Creature Features of the '80s like Gremlins, Critters and the like.
It sure is, well, freako...I mean, freaky.
A businessman is really bland.He's a square.
What is he to do?
Left alone for the weekend, he can't resist the siren's call of Frankie Freako's 1-900 number.

He passes out and wakes up the next day to a messed-up house full of creatures!
As it turned out, he 'cut loose' and partied with them.

After they nearly kill him and his Boss, he makes peace with them to party some more...while his Boss is stuck in glue in the basement.
He was told about how Frankie and his 2 friends fled their planet of Freakos when an evil Dictator took over.

Well, he comes for them, trapping the group in the House with a force field Rick Sanchez-style.

This is for you.
This is a nice love letter of sorts to the aforementioned Movies and, honestly, still pretty fun on its own. It is obviously stronger if you know the source material.
The Film is pure silliness and quite fun.
If you go in expecting Horror (as it is on Shudder), you may be disappointed.

That said, it is a fun update on a classic formula and still enjoyable on its own merits. Will we see more of Frankie Freako?
I don't know.
